Can't I just use linseed/olive oil?
We don’t recommend linseed oil as it has a very strong odour and can take up to three days to dry. It’s also prone to rancidification.
Danish Oil is prone to rancidification. This is a common problem caused with organic oils, where autoxidation of the fats causes an unpleasant odour or taste on the chopping board.
Vegetable oils such as olive oil, and nut oils such as peanut or walnut oil, contain fats that oxidise and go rancid. It's also important to consider nut allergies.
Oil & food safety
Not all mineral oils are food safe, but of course this one is! It's non-drying, with no colour or taste. It has a very light citrus smell from the natural oils. Perfect for use on items used for food preparation!
What can I oil?
Thousands of our long-term customers started using the oil on their chopping boards but were so impressed with the results they couldn't resist using it across their kitchens! Salad bowls, wooden utensils and countertops are all left glowing and protected.
It’s also really good at restoring slate, marble AND stainless steel.
Tip - garden furniture and even wooden fences love our oil too!
